The Society of NLP™ was established in 1978 by Dr. Richard Bandler, the Co-Creator of NLP. Since about 1994 John La Valle has been the president and owner of this worldwide organization that was set up for the purpose of exerting quality control over training programs and services claiming to represent the model of Neuro-Linguistic Programming.
The Society of NLP™ - Richard Bandler is the only licensing body that can both train and license a trainer as a Licensed Trainer of Neuro-Linguistic Programming®.

Only Licensed Trainers of Neuro-Linguistic Programming® are entitled to train and certify participants as a Licensed Practitioner of NLP™, a Licensed Master Practitioner of NLP™, and a Licensed NLP Coach™. The certificates of these licensed training programs are co-signed by Dr. Richard Bandler. They display the certification mark of the Society of Neuro-Linguistic Programming™ - Richard Bandler.
